Thomas Dyllick served Dean of the Department of Management at the University of St.Gallen (HSG) from 2001 to 2003 and as Vice President for Teaching and Quality Management from 2003 to 2011 for the university as a whole. In 2011 he began work as the “President’s Delegate for Responsibility and Sustainability” for the university-wide development and coordination of activities relevant to this topic. While attending the Academy of Management Conference in Montreal in August 2010 he was actively involved in the founding of the World Business School Council for Sustainable Business (WBSCSB), a deans' initiative from Canada (Concordia University, Montreal) and Switzerland (Business School Lausanne and the HSG).
The research deals mainly with issues surrounding strategic sustainability management and the development and implementation of sustainability innovations, focussing on the following three research fields in particular:
• sustainability management
• sustainability strategies
• sustainability and innovation
Courses are taught at Bachelor’s, Master's and Ph.D. Levels.

As “President’s Delegate for Responsibility and Sustainability”, Thomas Dyllick handles development and coordination of sustainability-related activities for the University of St.Gallen (HSG) as a whole.
